The leader of the unity of power Party, Ali Karnap, issued an important press release due to the violence experienced by his party's internal security employee, Mesut Erdi. The press release included the following statements;

Unfortunately, violence against citizens continues to increase every day.

After the end of his shift, Mesut Eri, an internal security employee of our party, was stopped for a check by the traffic police while traveling in a motorcycle vehicle.

Mesut Eri, who forgot his identity in the office; because he did not leave the party office, our party called the security chief Erol Bayir and asked him to bring his identity. Our security chief Erol Bayir and Deputy Head of the press Gokhan Evren, along with our officials who went to the scene, were shouted at and beaten by security employee Mesut Eri for no reason, when they asked what happened, they began to be beaten without even asking who they were.

Our secretary-general Ertan Özdoğan and our Vice-President lawyer Av, who were informed of the abhorrent incident in question. Ayşegül Manav, Av. When Sadullah Tolga arrived at the scene with Yilmaz, he forgot his commitment to the laws that formed the basis of his mission. He was subjected to insults and threats and tried to be beaten by three police officers who intended not to prevent the crime, but to commit the crime. In fact, when the incident reflected in the minutes and camera recordings is evaluated, it is seen that the actions in question reveal the “crime of torture”.

Our friends who were subjected to violence received a report of assault, the necessary minutes were kept and documents were arranged. If the Republic of Turkey is governed by law and justice, the people who brought this incident to this point should respond appropriately to the law, but first they should resign from their duties protecting themselves.

As members of the party, we will do everything we can to ensure that the police officers who committed this heinous incident are dismissed, prosecuted and receive the necessary punishment, and we will follow it to the end.

We are clear against this understanding, which criminalizes lawyers, clients and their files, that lawyers can neither be associated with their clients nor with the crimes that their clients are alleged to have committed. No lawyer can be sanctioned on the grounds that he has done his job. And let everyone know that we will never give up the stubbornness, the struggle for rights and freedoms, our ideal of an independent judiciary, the demand for Democracy for those who worship the focus of power and those who speak out against their orders and instructions. In societies that believe in the basics of the rule of law, the law binds all public officials as well as citizens, and everyone who has committed a crime, regardless of who is the perpetrator of the crime, is expected to be held accountable before the judiciary. Every measure that is not taken, every criminal act that is not investigated, forms the infrastructure of the next one, making such situations commonplace, causing not only individuals but also a number of public officials to become reckless.

No matter what happens, we will not get used to this situation, we will not shut up, we will not allow a cover-up, we will not pretend that there is a law, we will fight until these three police officers who act recklessly are punished.
