8 MARCH WOMEN'S DAY MESSAGE FROM AYDIN GOVERNOR AKSOY
Aydın Governor Hüseyin AKSOY released a message on the occasion of 8 March International Women's Day:
“Today, we celebrate" International Women's Day ", one of the most meaningful days in the world. The initiation of a process in which women expressed their demands and aspirations with determination and that they have come a long way in this way has gained momentum with the acceptance of 8 March as International Women's Day.
As a result of the struggle of women for long years to achieve equal rights and opportunities, the world public opinion has become increasingly sensitive to the demands of women, and with the development of democracy and the rise of human rights standards, serious progress has been made in the struggle for women's rights.
The level reached in the implementation of women's rights today is considered among the factors that determine the development level of countries. At the same time, the rights and responsibilities offered by a society to women, the importance it attaches and the respect it attaches are considered as the basic criteria of the development of that society towards civilization.
Fortunately for us, we are the inheritors of a civilization that has always dominated women throughout history as a nation.
The Turkish woman, who has been shoulder to shoulder with men in every period of history and took part in every stage of life, has become epic with the self-sacrificing, altruistic and patriotic attitude she displayed during the period of the War of Independence.
The women's movements, which started with the modernization moves in the last period of the Ottoman Empire in our country, gained a significant momentum with the Republic, and with the acceptance of the civil law and the recognition of the right to be elected in 1934 before many countries in the world, our women gained their current status.
Today, Turkish women work in almost every sector, and achieve international success in many fields from business life to politics, from arts to sports. In our province, it is pleasing for women to participate in production by working in the public or private sector, as well as with their own means and efforts.
Being educated, open-minded, thinking, questioning and actively participating in production and management is extremely important for the bright future of our country. With these feelings and thoughts, I congratulate all our women on "March 8 International Women's Day" and present my sincere love and respect. "
