8 MARCH WOMEN'S DAY MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a message on the occasion of 8 March International Women's Day. He included the following statements in his message:

"I congratulate all women, who are the hope of humanity with their love, efforts and sacrifices, on March 8, International Women's Day.

I attach great importance to the fact that our women, who are the main pillars of our family and social structure, have a greater presence in all areas from education to arts, from economy to politics.

As a whole nation, we will walk shoulder to shoulder with women and men in order to move our country to a more advanced and developed level and reach our goals.

We are proud of all our women, who have been at the forefront of all aspects of life throughout our history, and who set an example with their struggles and achievements today.

We have implemented many legal and administrative reforms and very advanced regulations in order to resolve the issues faced by our women in family, education, business and social life, especially discrimination, abuse of rights and violence.

Once again, I strongly condemn all kinds of physical and mental violence and discrimination against women, which I see as a crime against humanity.

We will continue our struggle with determination and sensitivity to create an environment where our women are not exposed to violence.

In our Human Rights Action Plan, which we announced last week, we included steps to strengthen the fight against violence against women.

On the other hand, we will continue to stand up against all kinds of initiatives and discourses aimed at revealing our family structure and to protect the holiness of the family as a whole, men and women.

On this occasion, I congratulate 8 March International Women's Day again and greet our mothers, wives, daughters, siblings, and all women in our country and the world with love and respect. "
